Welcome to the Pacific Coast Banking School Community website!

Our goal is to provide a platform for you to connect with the PCBS community, stay involved with your colleagues and other professionals associated with PCBS, engage in training programs, and utilize educational materials for continuous learning in the banking profession.

This Code of Conduct applies to everyone using the Pacific Coast Banking School Community website (the “Alumni Portal”), including our PCBS team and moderators.

To meet the collective goals of our community, it is important that all members feel safe and supported. We ask you to act in a transparent, respectful, and professional manner at all times while using the Alumni portal. To ensure that everyone has the best possible experience, please respect and follow our community guidelines:

Community Guidelines

Our commitment as a Community

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in the PCBS community a harassment-free experience for everyone. We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

This commitment includes being welcoming, kind, and respectful regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, gender identity and expression, age, political affiliation, veteran status, and any other protected or sensitive characteristics.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contribute to a positive environment for our community include:

  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.
  • Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall Community.
  • Using your real name on your profile.
  • Using the platform in a professional manner.

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Creating a false identity, misrepresenting your identity, creating a member profile for anyone other than yourself (a real or fictitious person), using or attempting to use another’s account.
  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual or inappropriate attention or advances of any kind.
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks of any kind.
  • Public or private harassment.
  • Disruptive behavior.
  • Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit, written permission and approval of the content to be published.
  • Breaching confidentiality and or sharing information about another member without permission.
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting, determined in PCBS’ sole discretion.

Solicitations

This includes self-promotion, unsolicited direct messages, spamming, links to offers, posing as Pacific School Banking partners, and any selling disguised as content or help posts with the purpose of lead generation. These types of posts will be deleted to ensure we stay focused on meaningful discussions and relevant topics related to learning and advancing all members.

Harassment

Community members may respectfully challenge ideas, but never directly attack a person. Any posts, comments or direct messages to members or staff that are inappropriate, rude, or aggressive will immediately be removed. This includes posts that spread misinformation and are disruptive to the group.

Administration

Pacific Coast Banking School administration and assigned moderators are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Moderators have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate. PCBS also reserves the right to suspend temporarily or permanently any member that it believes violates its Terms of Use, or this Code of Conduct. Posts will be removed if they:

  • Break any of the above guidelines.
  • Contain offensive or harmful material.
  • Contain personal or sensitive information about users.
  • Violate any copyrights or licenses.
  • Impersonate Pacific Coast Banking School staff members.
  • Post spam content.
  • Post offensive or harmful material.
  • Harass other users.

Reporting a Violation

PCBS is committed to the highest ethical standards of business. If you find unacceptable behavior directed at yourself or others, send an email to alumni@thepcbs.org describing the offence and including any appropriate links to the offending content.
